蓝瑛（1585-1664），浙江钱塘人。字田叔，号蜨叟，又号西湖外史，晚号石头陀。蓝氏与明末文人董其昌、陈继儒等人友好往来，受文人画论影响而重视临仿古人绘作，于黄公望究心尤力。 本开模拟大痴山水之构图、笔法、山体造型，以披麻皴描绘斜向左倚的山体，峰顶矾头堆积，苔点点缀其间，确实掌握黄公望〈富春山居图〉神髓。然此画质朴简率的笔性与沈周（1427-1509）更为相近，不同黄公望多用侧笔擦染、墨色多变的特点。 (20110609) |

Lan Ying (style name Tianshu; sobriquets Jieshou, Xihu waishi, and later Shitoutuo) was a native of Qiantang in Zhejiang. A friend of such important late Ming literati as Dong Qichang and Chen Jiru, Lan Ying came under the influence of literati painting and emphasized the copying of ancient works, especially focusing on the manner associated with Huang Gongwang. This album leaf imitates the mountain forms, brush methods, and composition of Huang Gongwang’s landscape painting, using hemp-fiber texture strokes to depict a mountain leaning off to the left. The tops of the peaks are layered with alum-head forms with moss dots interspersed amongst them, thereby truly grasping the essence of Huang Gongwang’s “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.” Furthermore, the quality of the simple and direct brushwork here is even closer to that of Shen Zhou’s (1427-1509) style, differing from Huang Gongwang’s by means of the characteristic variety to the ink tones and the use of a slanted brush for the textured washes.
